Chakrata is a scenic hill station located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an altitude of approximately 2,118 meters (6,949 feet) above sea level and is about 98 kilometers (61 miles) from the state capital, Dehradun. Chakrata is known for its natural beauty, pleasant weather, and serene surroundings. Here are 10 things to do in chakrata.

Tiger Falls

You can trek up the hill to reach one of the highest Indian waterfalls at 312 ft. high. The waterfall is covered by a backdrop of scenic woody deodars. During peak tourist season this place is a busy picnic spot.

Koti-Kanasar

Koti-Kanasar is a picturesque location marked ideal for a picnic or a honeymoon. It is surrounded by a dense green forest-the green meadows allure tourists and make it perfect for an excursion.A little town Koti Kanasar is also situated here with few houses.Kanasar is known for maintaining very old Deodar trees, exceptionally well. Asia’s biggest Deodar tree with a circumference of 6.35 meters is present in its woodland.

Ram Tal Horticulture Garden

One of the popular attractions of Chakrata, Ram Tal Horticultural Garden is located 9 km from Chakrata on Chakrata-Mussoorie route.

Chirmiri Neck

One of the peak points, Chilmiri is where the cantonment is located. You can view the Rohini Peak, Swarga Peak and the Banderpoonch Massif from here.

Mundali

Mundali, a picturesque ski destination of India is blessed with lush green forests and majestic peaks covered with powdery snow.

Budher Caves

At a distance of about 30 km from Chakrata, lies the Budher caves, also known as Miola caves. The name Miola is after the German person who discovered this cave and this cave is now a popular spot for spelunking or exploring caves.

Deoban

At 2200 m high, Deoban offers expansive views of the Himalayan ranges and is surrounded by dense deodar forests. Home to wide varieties of Himalayan Woodpeckers, white collared blackbirds and Green Backed tit, these forests attract great number of bird watchers.

Moigad Fall

Close to Chakrata, situated on the Delhi-Yamunotri Street, is the milky stretch of Moigad falls ideal for an outing and relaxing scenic encounters with nature. Tourists enjoy taking blissful drives into the milky water sweats surrounded by the dense forest and enchanting loudly in-between the hills. The tranquil fall itself is 50 meters long and is one of the popular places to visit in Chakrata

Chinta Haran Mahadev

Chinta Haran Mahadev is a temple committed to Lord Shiva which is arranged 3 kms from town Chakrata. The temple is home to a tall Shivling and it for the most part takes a 10 minute firm walk tough to achieve the temple. This temple is encompassed with pine and rhodenderon trees.

Thana Danda Peak

Thana Danda Peak is undeveloped viewpoint near Chakrata. Thana Danda means small peak named Thana in local language. This peak offers scintillating views of Hills around and best for trekkers and campers. Located at about 16 km from Chakrata, Thana Danda Peak is best location for a day out trekking from Chakrata.
